Sunday (Oct 14)  traveling was easy and we arrived in Scranton PA.  Not exactly the scenic venue we strive for but a huge Workamper lesson for me.  We fueled the RV (gasp!) at a truck stop - hoping for a parking spot for the night.  There was no opportunity there so we looked to the Wal Mart across the way.  For those of you (like me) who are new to the RV thing- Wal Mart usually welcomes Rvers to park- in the hopes they come and spend their loot at the store.  Well the Port Jenkins (outside Scranton) Wal Mart has clearly taken against any vehicle over 12 feet tall and constructed overhanging  barriers to prevent an RV from coming within a football field of their store.  So we carried on down the road just behind the store and found an sparsely in habited, brand new industrial park.  We pulled the rig in and settled in for the night.

I have to say I was a little uneasy about the parking-without-permission thing.  Of course I had just successfully crashed my first wedding so I was on a roll.  Turns out no one really cares if we park the rig there.  Mind you it is a nice rig with a spiffy sports car on the trailer so I think we look like a pair of responsible duffers. The bonus was that we popped the tv antenna up and got to watch the evening news, football and a "Flying Nun" marathon. Score!

We walked the dogs in the undeveloped area behind the industrial park which offered nice view of the surrounding hills and showed lots of evidence of wild turkeys and fox.  Then we walked back up the hill to the cursed Wal Mart and invested in a Mifi set up so we can blog and stay connected (and I can look at photos of my darling granddaughter Sadie) all the time.

Monday it is raining and Interstate day.  We are driving 81 south to Winchester VA where we will pick up US 50 Westward!
